THE BUSINESS CASE

Build around the way the work really happens.

Your team relies on shared spreadsheets, disconnected records or an off-the-shelf package that cannot support your operating model. The process matters enough to deserve a dedicated tool, and someone in the business can own how it should work.

01

Know when custom software is worth building

A standard package is often the right starting point. Bespoke software becomes worth considering when the compromises cost your team hours each week, make information unreliable or stop you running a process that sets your business apart. We look at the work, the systems you already pay for and the practical alternatives before recommending a build. Sometimes a focused tool beats replacing everything.

02

Replace the spreadsheet that runs the business

Many established companies depend on a shared spreadsheet nobody fully trusts. We map who does what, which information each person needs and what happens next, then turn that into a proper application: clear statuses, sensible permissions, validation that stops bad data at the door and a full history of who changed what.

03

Deliver useful stages, not an all-or-nothing programme

The first release solves one specific operational problem, often within weeks. We agree the essential workflow, test it with real inputs and review working software as the project progresses. Data migration, access controls, hosting, documentation and ongoing maintenance are planned early rather than left as surprises at the end.

BEFORE YOU COMMISSION

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Compare the full operating cost, not just the licence. Include administration time, duplicate entry, per-user subscriptions, missing functionality and workarounds. If a standard product meets the important requirements, buy it. Custom development is worth assessing where your process is distinctive and the compromises have a measurable cost.

It depends on the number of workflows, users, integrations and the data involved. A focused internal tool costs far less than a full operational platform. After an initial conversation we provide a written proposal with a fixed scope for the first stage, so you can judge the investment against the time and errors it removes.

Usually, yes. A focused application can fill a gap and exchange information with your CRM or accounts package where their APIs allow. Keeping software that works reduces disruption and keeps the first release tight.

Ownership, licensing and hosting terms are set out in the proposal rather than assumed. Your business data remains yours, and we agree handover, documentation and support arrangements before launch.
